小說(shuō)故事時(shí)間線梳理：

公元2500年
一艘法國(guó)飛船載著三位宇航員：Antelle教授、他的同事Arthur Levain和記者Ulysse Mérou，飛往參宿四。飛船內(nèi)兩年過(guò)去了，而地球上已經(jīng)過(guò)去了350年。

公元2850年
飛船連帶著三位宇航員墜毀在一顆圍繞參宿四運(yùn)行的類地行星上。在那里他們遇到了Nova和她所在的原始人部落。隨后他們發(fā)現(xiàn)這顆行星是被具有智慧的猿類所統(tǒng)治的。Ulysse和Nova的兒子Sirius出生。

公元3200年
Ulysse帶著Nova和Sirius逃出生天返回地球（自他離開(kāi)已過(guò)去了700年），才發(fā)現(xiàn)地球上的人類也已經(jīng)被猿類所取代。
